Define New Question

Adding a No Answer / Not Stated Response

From the main menu select
Options|N/A Options to control how the No Answer / Not Stated response is added to the new questions response table. You can choose one of three methods.

Selecting
Add NA Response Top or Add NA Response Bottom will cause the editor to insert No Answer as the first or last item in the new questions response table. You will not see the item in the New Question Responses list box, but it will be available once the question has been created. As the new question is built, the filter for each new response is evaluated. If all response filters evaluate to false, the No Answer response will be set. The resulting new question will account for every respondent if you include No Answer.

Select the third method,
User Defined NA Response, if you require more control over the new questions sample. The Add New Response dialog will now contain an additional checkbox, Mark this as the No Answer / Not Stated Response.

If you wish the new question to have a No Answer response, one must be manually added and marked as the No Answer response. This time, the response will show up in
New Question Responses list box. A valid filter definition must be provided. Adding a No Answer response is optional. Respondents, who do not pass one of the response filters, including the No Answer response, will be dropped from the sample.
