Define New Question

Editing User Defined Questions

You can make modification to an existing Defined Question. Highlight a Defined question in the Available Questions list of the Question Selection View. Choose the
Edit User Defined Question… menu item under Question or from the right click menu. The Define New Question Editor View will open with the current definition in place. Make changes as needed and re-apply.

If question recodes that were used to define the question are no longer available or they have been modified since the question was defined, mapping conflicts could result. The
User Defined Questions Automatic Regeneration Errors dialog will open showing the conflicts and any actions that were taken to resolve them.

In most cases, the original question used to create the recode will be used in place of the missing recode. A subset will be generated to match the subset in the recode. If there are many conflicts, you may need to close and reopen the error dialog. Press OK or Cancel to close the dialog. Select
View|Regeneration Errors… from the menu to re-open. NOTE: The two progress bars, at the bottom of the dialog, only apply during a complete regeneration of an extension data set. They can be ignored here.

You can use this mechanism to copy a define question from data set to another. Select the data set containing the defined question as your primary study and the target data set as a 3rd level study. Correct any mapping conflicts and apply the question to all 3rd level studies.
