Extension Data Set Regeneration
Extension Data Sets exist in files separate from the parent .MDB file. If the
parent .MDB file is revised for some reason, the extension data sets
associated with the parent file must be regenerated. When you select a primary study,
checks are made to see if the study has been revised since the extension data
sets were created. If so, you will be presented with a message box similar to the
one below, and given the opportunity to regenerate the out of date data sets.
If you know that you will not be using any of the user defined questions, you
can say no and put off the regeneration until a later time. You will not be
able to access the user defined questions, nor will you be able to create new
ones.
If you decide to regenerate the extension data sets at this time, the Define
New Question Editor View will load and the “User Defined Questions Automatic Regeneration Errors” will appear. Each defined question will be loaded. Component questions will
be checked for conflicts or omission. If conflicts are found, processing
will pause. The nature of the conflict along with any actions taken to correct
the problem will be displayed in the Regeneration dialog.
