Format Style Dialog

The Format Style dialog provides access to the selection, creation, and modification of mTAB format styles.

Available Styles List Box

This box displays a list of styles available. These styles include both user defined and default styles.

Apply Button

If you are choosing a style to use, highlight the desired style, and press the APPLY button. All questions that were highlighted will use this style.

New Button

If you wish to create a new style, choose the style which closely approximates the style you wish to create. Highlight this style, and press the NEW button.

Modify Button

If you wish to modify a preexisting user defined style, highlight the style you wish to modify and choose the MODIFY button. Important: Format modifications to existing styles will 'carry over' to any other question formatted with the style. If you are attempting to define a different style, use the new button.

Delete Button

If you wish to delete a preexisting user defined style, highlight the style you wish to delete and choose the DELETE button.

Format Display Ordering

This box displays the Format Ordering for the style currently highlighted in the Available Styles list box. The <<Question Responses>> text is a place holder for the formats contained in the dialog box below. These formats are applied to all question responses, such as % Column Subset or Unweighted Respondent Counts. The formats displayed in the Format Display Ordering box are formats which are applied to a question overall, such as a Mean or a Sample Total.

Formats for <<Question Responses>> and Formatted Totals

This box displays the Response Type formats currently selected, and the order in which they are selected. Response type formats are those formats which apply to every response within a question, such as % Column Subset or Unweighted Respondent Counts. The <<Questions Responses>> is essentially a place holder for Response Type formats in the Format Display Ordering box.

Format Parameters

The format parameters box lists Optional Format Parameters which have been selected.

Format Context

The format context option determines which type of styles you are modifying. mTAB has different style types for Rows, Columns, and 3rd Level.
