Recode Password
mTAB provides the ability to protect your recodes with a password. This can
be extremely useful in an environment where multiple users are using the same
system, or for those recodes that are shared on a network. Passwords can prevent
users from making any modifications to the base recode and help to ensure the
integrity of a recode definition.
To Create A Recode Password
- In the Recode Editor, from the Options menu, choose Password.
- Specify a password for the current recode.
- Choose password options.
Prompt for Password on Updates
Indicate whether or not you wish to have mTAB prompt a user for a password
when updating a recode.
Enable Password Protection on Updates
This option enables the password protection when a user attempts to update a
recode.
To Save a Password Protected Recode Under a New Description
- Give the recode a new description.
- Save the recode under a different file name.
