mSITE Question Sets and mSITE Authoring

mSITE is an separate, additional cost service offered by PAI for the purposes of reporting information in a graphical and easy to use format. mSITE is an application that runs beneath a a web browser, accessing content in a special format from either the internet or intranet. Reports can be created and maintained from any number of data sources by PAI / Gamma, or conveniently authored directly from within mTAB. If you have not purchased mSITE and would like additional information, please access our web site at;
www.paiwhq.com

If you are already a customer of mSITE, then you may wish to take advantage of mTAB
s built in ability to create mSITE content. Similar to the process of saving a tab, mSITE content can be defined within mTAB and then displayed within mSITE, thereby sharing the results of your analysis within your enterprise. The mSITE content is reflective of the look of the mTAB report, including question formatting, observation of hidden rows / columns, alternate fonts / typefaces, etc.

In order to effectively author mSITE content, an understanding of the components of an mSITE report are required. A typical mSITE report is shown in the picture below.

Note the that there are three separate drop down menus presented on the face of the report. The upper left most drop down is referred to as mSITE
s data set menu, the drop down immediately beneath the data set menu is referred to as the row set menu, and the right-most drop down menu referred to as the column set menu. Changing any one (or all) of the menu selections changes the mSITE report display.

An mTAB report can be constructed to form content for mSITE if the following rules are observed. First, mTAB
s 3rd level question Z-Axis orientation will always represent the data set menu selection items. The additional row set and / or column set menu items are created by way of adding an mSITE Question Set to the row selection view, thereby creating row set menu items and / or to the column selection view, thereby creating column set menu items. Questions added within the mSITE Question Set create the items within mSITEs row set or column set menus.

Example

A simple example is created below. The question Age Category is selected as mTAB
s 3rd Level question and the 3rd Level orientation is set to Z-axis. The responses to the Age Category question will form the items within mSITEs data set menu.

Right clicking within the column selection view, the author selects the Add mSITE Question Set right-click menu item and defines the column set menu Brands as shown below.

Next, the study question representative of the purchased product is selected three times within the newly formed Brands mSITE Question set. The three questions are then subset differently representative of the products of three separate brands. The question text for each question is named appropriately within the subset editor <<MARK ADD LINK TO SUBSET EDITOR HELP HERE>> as shown below. Changing the question text in this way will define the text found with mSITE
s column set menu.

Lastly, a series of rating questions (e.g. overall opinion) are selected into mTAB
s row selection view and are then formatted to Mean/Weighted Average. The tab is then run in the normal manner. From the spreadsheet view, the user selects File Export and changes the file type to mSITE (RDL) Output. A filename for the RDL file is required.

The mSITE Output dialog appears as shown below containing the following attributes.

General Tab

Author
Author of the mSITE content.

Title
Main Title of the mSITE report.

Summary
Information that will be displayed beneath mSITEs Info button.

Alignment Tab

Defines how the text / numbers will be aligned within the mSITE report. Separate control is offered for the numbers (default) column text and row text. The Wrap check box enables word wrapping.

Options Tab

Selects the default type face and point sizes of the title text labels (text) and data (numbers)

Executive Mode setting allows creation of an mSITE
Executive report. Executive reports advance through a sequence of fixed report views via VCR-like forward and backward buttons. The level at which the buttons are invoked (i.e. dataset, rowset or column set) can be determined by this menu. Leave the selection at default unless you specific know and understand the resultant output.

FTP Tab

Allows the content to be forwarded across the internet to a remote FTP server. Please contact your PAI representative regarding your needs and the required settings. Most corporate installations will not require this configuration as content will be forwarded to an intranet (server on the LAN) location rather than an external internet site.

Selecting OK will create the RDL content which could then be subsequently viewed within mSITE. The column set menu will contain the text of the three questions listed within the Brand mSITE Question Set and the data set menu will reflect the age categories selected as Z-axis questions. In this example, a row set menu was not specified.
