To Copy Old Labels To New

1. Choose one of the following:
   • From the Tools menu, choose Copy Old To New.

   • Click the icon on the toolbar.

2. Select a copy option:
   • All = copy all labels from the old label list to the new label list.

   • Selected Items = copy only items from the old label list that are currently selected.

3. Choose to Clear the New Label list or to append labels to the end of the New Label list. By default this option is checked, but if you prefer to copy the Old Labels to the bottom of the New Label list, turn this option off.
   
   This option is very useful when mapping recodes across studies. Use of this feature in combination with the Auto Recode feature can help to create recode across studies for use in 3rd Level Studies analysis.

Note: If you do not turn on the option noted in step 3, copying Old Labels to New will destroy the current new labels and their associated mappings.
