New / Modify Format Style Dialog

The New and Modify Format Style dialog provides the user the ability to create their own user defined style formats.

Format Style Name

Type in the name of the format you are creating. This name will be used to identify the format in the
Format Style dialog box.

Based Upon Style

When creating a user defined style, it is possible to use a pre-existing style as a start point for your new style.

Description Button

When pressed, the Format Description dialog box will appear. The format description provides for an extended explanation of a user defined style. This description will be displayed in the Format Style dialog box.

Available Formatting Options

This box provides a list of available formats from which you can create a style. The available formats are different for Row, Column, and 3rd Level.

Click on the mTABWin00000054.gif to expand the list of formats, or click on the mTABWin00000055.gif to collapse the list of formats.

To choose a format, double-click on the format's title. The format will then appear in the one of the format display boxes.

Available Formatting Options

This box provides a list of available formats from which you can create a style. The available formats are different for Row, Column, and 3rd Level.

Format Display Ordering

This box displays the Format Ordering for the style currently highlighted in the Available Styles list box. The <<Question Responses>> text is a place holder for the formats contained in the dialog box below. These formats are applied to all question responses, such as % Column Subset or Unweighted Respondent Counts. The formats displayed in the Format Display Ordering box are formats which are applied to a question overall, such as a Mean or a Sample Total.

Formats for <<Question Responses>> and Formatted Totals

This box displays the Response Type formats currently selected, and the order in which they are selected. Response type formats are those formats which apply to every response within a question, such as % Column Subset or Unweighted Respondent Counts. The <<Questions Responses>> is essentially a place holder for Response Type formats in the Format Display Ordering box.

Format Parameters

The format parameters box lists Optional Format Parameters which have been selected.

Format Context

The format context option determines which type of styles you are modifying. mTAB has different style types for Rows, Columns, and 3rd Level.
