Creating A New Style
To Create A New Style
- From the Question Selection View, choose one of the following:
- Click the right mouse button. From the right mouse menu, choose Format.
- Press CTRL+F.
- From the Question menu, choose Format Styles.
- Click the
icon on the toolbar.
The Format Style Dialog will be displayed.
- Select an existing styles which closely matches the style you wish to create.
mTAB will use the formats from this style as a starting point for your new
style. This step is not necessary, but is helpful in the creation of a new style.
- Choose the New button.
The New Format Style Dialog will be displayed.
- Provide the new style with a unique Format Style Name. This will be the name
that is displayed in the Format Style box. If you created a style called Mean / Top 2 Box, it would be displayed in the Format Style box as follows.
- Choose the formats you wish to use for this new style.
All available formats are listed under the Available Formatting Options menu.
This menu will differ depending upon Format Context (Row, Column, or 3rd
Level).

Click on the
to expand the list of formats, or click on the
to collapse the list of formats.
To choose a format, double-click on the format's title. The format will then
appear in the one of the format display boxes. There are three types of
formats: , , and .
- You may optionally give your new style a Style Description. To create a Style
Description, click on the Description button. Then type in a detailed
description for the new style. This description will be displayed in the Format Style
dialog when a style is highlighted.
- Choose OK to continue.
If the new style created does not exist, you will return to the Format Style
dialog. If a style with the same format options already exists, mTAB will tell
you the name of the duplicate style and return you to the New Format Style
dialog. You must then change the current format options, or use the duplicate
format indicated.
